Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.
-Jeremiah 29:7

We earnestly seek the peace that God has granted to this land, and we are reminded once again that it is entirely by His grace that we have been able to proclaim the gospel here, even amid the anxiety and threat of conflict. We sincerely ask for your prayers for this land and are grateful to share news from Cambodia with you.

There are times when we face the struggle of the intense heat, and times when our health is challenged by various illnesses. The unstable political situation and still-limited transportation infrastructure can make safety uncertain. At times, we even feel despair over our own immaturity and weakness. Yet, even amidst all these challenges, we continue to witness the great work God is doing in this land, and we humbly press on, walking the path of the mission He has entrusted to us.

For God's gifts and his call are irrevocable
-Jeremiah 29:7

At present, a small number of missionaries serve within the His International Service team through His Child (relief work), His Church (church ministry), and His School (educational ministry). We ask for your prayers that, even when faced with challenging conditions or our own limitations, we may not despair but instead look solely to the God who has called us and obey in faith.

Currently, the team consists of six missionaries: Missionary Lucille, who oversees finance and administrative matters; Missionary Merry Jung, who teaches music at the school and church; Missionary Chunhwa Kim, in charge of church ministry; the Malaysian couple Missionaries Casey & Camy; and our team leader, Missionary Jung Young Kim. They are supported by 33 local ministry workers.

Meanwhile, Missionaries Eun Hee Yang and Mi Hyun Kim, who have been serving in the school ministry, are currently in their home country on sabbatical and preparing for marriage, respectively. As a result, there is an urgent need for a new missionary to take responsibility for the school ministry. We earnestly ask for your prayers that God would raise up a worker who possesses both professional knowledge of education and a humble heart, able to work in partnership with the local team to faithfully carry out this ministry.

So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
-1 Corinthians 3:7

As we carry out the work God has entrusted to us in the mission field, we constantly remember that it is only by His mercy that He has placed us here despite our own unworthiness. We ask for your prayers that we may continue to serve humbly and that our service would bring joy to God.

The local ministry workers serving alongside our missionaries are as follows:

HIS Child (Relief Work): Ponlok & Sophanny (couple), Theng, Mao, Vannak, Thin —total 7 people

HIS Church (Church Ministry): Pastor POV — 1 person

HIS School (Educational Ministry):

  • Kindergarten Teachers: Sopha, Thary, Channa, Mao — total 4 people

  • Middle School Preparation Teacher: Sovannarath — 1 person

  • Administrative Staff: Chinov, Sokry, Leslie — total 3 people

  • Management Staff: Shopheap, Na, Sophorn, Sophy, Theara, Pu — total 6 people

Many local workers dedicate themselves in their respective roles with hearts of stewardship. We earnestly ask for your prayers that all our partners may demonstrate positive influence in their ministries and grow firmly as mature Christians.

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 1:6

We believe that God is always with us and at work, yet there are times when we grow discouraged as we look at ministries that, despite long seasons of patience and waiting, seem to bear little visible fruit.

When our human thoughts ask, “Shouldn’t there be some change by now? Isn’t this enough?” we pray for the grace to let go of these personal expectations, to persevere without giving up, and to continue walking the path of our calling with God’s heart holding, loving, and embracing it to the very end.

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy.
-Philippians 1:3-4
We sincerely thank you for always remembering HIS Cambodia and our team in your prayers. Through your prayers, we have experienced God’s great grace and marvelous works, and it is our hope to continue sharing these blessings together.

We pray that peace and grace in the Lord may always accompany you.
